This project is a promotional design based on a segment heard on the “Opie and Anthony Radio Show” on XM Satellite Radio. During the segment, Anthony Cumia broadly described his ideal home office, and it was on this description that this project was based. Mr. Cumia had expressed an interest in having an office with a sort of Indiana Jones meets Dr. Livingstone theme. Mr. Cumia is also a World War II enthusiast, a weapons collector, and has a strong interest in modern military technology. Therefore, I decided to create an office consisting of a few different spaces, starting with the entry area. The space features period furniture and lighting from the early 1900s. The office area consists of rich, old world details combined with modern amenities. Period furniture and lighting helps balance the presence of a flat-panel TV, computer and security monitors. The office also boasts a unique ceiling-fan system modeled after 19th century fan systems in which belts run by an electric motor turn the fan blades.
