This is my wife’s dream French country kitchen. I created it for her and as a promotional project for Lone Wolf Drafting and Design.

The kitchen is laid out like a typical kitchen, however, every effort was made to hide the utilitarian functionality of the kitchen. For instance, the refrigerator doors are hidden by wood panels that mimic the intricacy of the walls and smaller cabinet doors. The range is based on an actual professional-grade range, enhanced with custom hardware that matches the door handles and cabinet pulls. The sink is an under mounted, porcelain farm-style sink that is center below a large arched window bordered with a bronze vine design. The island contains a pot sink, lighted cabinets, and the bun feet conceal the base that contains the plumbing and electric. The ceiling is has a large faux dome painted to mimic the sky, and fresco reproductions of the “Divine Spark” mural. The flooring in the kitchen, breakfast nook, and dining room are different to help create their own sense of identity. The dining room is designed around a formal European theme, with base and crown molding, and coffered ceiling. The walls of the dining area also have molding frames, in which one can see a lightly painted floral pattern. The 4 ½-foot fireplace is surrounded with an ornate, 6 foot high mantle. Lighting throughout the dining area consists primarily of period style fixtures, with some modern lighting found in the kitchen. Overall, the space stays true to the French and European designs it was modeled after.

This promotional modern kitchen project includes a small breakfast nook, a center island with bar seating, a range top, oven, and a small pot sink. Modern touches include a Sub-Zero refrigerator with a plasma screen TV built in to the door, as well as two high-powered microwaves side by side in the far wall. A large, curved drop ceiling highlights the boundaries of the kitchen area. All cabinetry is custom and designed with translucent glass which flows into the dining room. A custom table sits in the center of the dining room which features wine storage. All doors, ceiling fans, and lighting fixtures are custom designed to work with the flow and large design items of the rooms.
