McDaniel Garage

Level of Detail: Medium to High

Project Overview

This garage is a four bay space, with a bar/lounge area housed in a large, 2story turret. The client had wanted a futuristic look to the entire space, but allowed for functional uses. The cabinets that run along the back of the garage are all custom designed, with smaller cabinets running along the top. We used a rolling ladder modified with ATV tires for access to those upper cabinets. The bar area consists of two half round sections one side for seating, the other side for cold storage and food/drink prep. All counters are constructed of 1 inch thick glass, and the front of the bar is comprised of curved, backlit glass panels for added effect. At the top of the turret is a custom design overhead light, with a 16 foot diameter. The lamp uses a combination of direct down lights, and a large reflective parabolic dish for indirect lighting. The columns on each side of the garage doors are custom, with bedliner texture (the same as in a pick up truck bed) coating the bottom portion of the columns, and reflective acrylic and stainless steel paneling going to the top. The garage doors use alternating bands of carbon fiber and stainless steel banding. The overall look of the garage is monochromatic, with color added in key areas. The floor is a steel blue/grey color, and green/blue lighting from the bar adds a mystifying affect to the overall environment.
