Office Redesign
Level of Detail: Low
Project Overview
The goal of this project was to create a modern, yet elegant work environment for a small, private firm. They had wanted an interior space that reflected old world charm with modern building materials. Therefore, I proposed a classic copper sheeted ceiling with an embossed pattern, and faux marble flooring. I proposed steel diamond decking for their closet doors, and extended the design feature to their custom desks. The desks themselves are salvaged steel frame desks from the mid–1960's. Each was to be repainted using a high polish automotive paint and wax with a stainless steel work top and diamond plating inserts on the front. The lamps on the desk are custom as well; a tribute to the Art Deco period, as are the ceiling lamps seen throughout the main space. These themes are carried through to the bathroom, which uses the same marble flooring concept, and stainless steel countertops with automotive finish cabinet frames and diamond deck doors. The entry door to the bathroom is a translucent, corrugated glass door. This project was submitted for cost analysis.
