Torino Break Room

Level of Detail: Low

Project Overview

The goal of this project was to completely renovate an existing break room space inside a large mechanic's garage. Initially, the space was used for storage of random equipment, and did not allow for any respite for the employees. Therefore, the client approached GarageMahals to design a state of the art employee lounge. He expressed an interest in a semi futuristic design that was bright and colorful, yet not over done, using red and silver as the primary color palette. Our design solution included a 42 inch plasma TV, raised lunch countertop, a kitchen area with a stainless steel, glass paneled refrigerator and extra storage. We proposed a checkered patterned floor, alternating between silver and red – a theme we carried to the walls as well. We used our custom diamond deck rubber plating along the bottom, and transitioned into red and silver acrylic paneling. We proposed custom wall sconces for direct lighting over the counter spaces, and “can” lighting for overall ambient lighting. The end result was a bright, spacious area that the employees could now enjoy during their lunch break.
