Las Vegas Themed Garage
Level of Detail: High
Project Overview
This project was created in cooperation with GarageMahals of Scottsdale, AZ. This project is located within an old brick warehouse that is being converted into a large show garage. The client wanted the entire space to be themed after the glitz, glamour and elegance of Las Vegas, Nevada. We started with the largest space in the garage, which will be used to house the clients show cars, and serve as a mechanic’s area. On the left in the main space are six bays, all with car lifts, for a maximum of twelve vehicles. The catwalk around the lifts allows for viewing of vehicles on the lifts in the raised position. To the right of the lifts is the enclosed mechanics area, complete with fume ventilation, lift, and workspaces. Opposite of the display area is the “Merc Bar”. The client used to work on the Mercantile Exchange, so the designer of the space decided to create a bar area themed around the Exchange. We included an electronic “zipper”, as well as two large flat panel TVs. To the left of the bar is “Studio 3”, a nightclub themed playroom for the client’s children. This space reflects the old style glitz of Las Vegas back in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Toward the end of the garage is the elegant side modeled after such hotel and casinos as the Venetian, or the Bellagio. Here we used a large barrel vault, coffered ceiling, and crown molding, and columns, with a garden mural on the far wall. The overall space successfully brings together all of the elements of Vegas in one large cohesive space. This garage is slated for construction later this year.
