Vento Project

Project Overview
The Vento Project was one of the largest garages GarageMahals had worked on. This 4 bay behemoth was to be unique in every way possible. The client wanted a space that was more akin to a living area then a garage, and drew heavily on art deco architecture. We started the design process in the lounge area, creating custom lighting both overhead, and along the walls. The overhead “star” lamp used elements specific to the art deco period, as was the large, aluminum brushed, starburst panel on the wall, flanked by two 4 foot high frosted glass lighted panels. The cabinet in the room is completely custom – using elegant glass shelving, and stainless steel door panels set inside the wood framing. The entire garage uses GarageMahals custom flooring – a stellar pattern in the lounge and along the raised platform area, and a deep sapphire blue in the actual bays. We proposed large, hammered finished closet storage around the back of the garage, ending into a stainless steel countertop. We added an aluminum ceiling grid to cover the roll up door mechanics, and extended them under the skylights. We also created a true art deco molding treatment with built in accent lighting that surrounded the perimeter of the garage bays. Finally, at the client's request, we included a large mural of a nude woman taken directly from the art deco movement of the late 1920's.
